BoxingScene.com caught up with WBC featherweight champion Jhonny Gonzalez at the WBC Convention in Las Vegas, NV. Gonzalez was ordered by the WBC to face his mandatory challenger Elio Rojas in his next fight.
When reminded of recent comments made by Jorge Arce about possibly moving up to 126 pounds to face his countryman, Gonzalez quickly laughed off the notion of facing the 5 division champion.
"He just talks. That is all he does. He has never signed for the fight. He doesn't really want to fight me. He just uses my name for publicity," Gonzalez told Boxingscene.com.
Gonzalez also said that he thinks Juan Manuel Lopez will make adjustments and have a better performance against Salido in their rematch but still sees Salido leaving the ring with his hand raised. Gonzalez said that he would like to face the winner of that fight.
