Jean Pascal-Tavoris Cloud in Play For September 27?

By Edward Chaykovsky

There were once scheduled to fight each other in August of 2012, but an injury canceled their meeting. Promoter Yvon Michel is attempting to make the fight happen on September 27. Michel informed Canadian outlet RDS that he spoke with Don King about the possibility of matching Jean Pascal (29-2-1, 17 KOs) against Tavoris Cloud (24-2, 19 KOs) in a battle of former light heavyweight champions.

Cloud has been inactive since last August's TKO defeat to current WBC king Adonis Stevenson, and Pascal last fought in January with a dominating decision win over countryman Lucian Bute.

Michel told RDS that he reached a verbal deal with King, but the veteran promoter has to reach an agreement with Cloud and his manager, James Prince.

If Cloud did not learn anything from his losses he has no chance against Pascal at all.

Thunder Cloud has no fight left in him. 3 years ago he would have , but now he is a shell - let him retire already

a match as this is detrimental 2 Jean, wasting time...he even could go vs JCC jr...Cloud is nothing , now, but a stepping stone in the division...
