UFC star Nick Diaz just got verbally attacked by former world champion Jean Pascal, who says Diaz is nothing more than a coward from a redneck city (sorry, Stockton) who's afraid to fight a real pugilist.
Pascal says he's sick of UFC fighters claiming they can hang with real boxers. Back in January, Diaz's brother Nate Diaz secured a license to box in the state of Nevada.
Pascal also says he's got a real problem with the way Nick trashed his buddy, GSP, before they fought back in 2013 and thinks Nick needs to be taught a lesson in humility.
Pascal (31-4-1, 1 NC, 18 KOs), 34-years-old, is now the latest fighter to throw his hat in the MMA vs. Boxing discussion, as Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Conor McGregor have been calling each other out to collide in a boxing match in the near future.
Diaz has been involved in this circle a lot longer than McGregor. Back in 2011, there were serious discussions about a boxing match between Diaz and former world champion Jeff Lacy, but it never happened.
“UFC fighters always say they can fight, they can box. But I don’t see that and Nick Diaz talk a lot of trash and he never had someone that can talk back to him like I can do. I’m pretty sure I could whip his ass because I’m a fighter. I’m not a UFC wrestler. I fight with my fists. We standing up and we got boxing rules, we got rules," Pascal said.
"Boxing is an art. I can tell Diaz why don’t you come out of your redneck country and fight me into a real city like Montreal. Nick Diaz never held a belt that people cared about. Stop talking sh*t and let’s do it like real men. Simple and easy, right? I’m pretty sure he’s going to stay quiet because he’s a coward, he’s not a real man. He’s not a real fighter. He’s not a real soldier.”
“The [UFC] fighters claim they can box. To get on the ground with another man, that’s not my thing. I’d rather go on the ground with a woman. To go on the floor with a man, that’s not my thing, I’m sorry.”
