Javier Maciel Stops Julio, Vanes Clash Up Next in Macau

Club Atlético Vélez Sarsfield, Buenos Aires, Distrito Federal, Argentina - Javier Maciel (25-2, 18KOs) stopped Emilio Julio Julio (26-10-2, 19KOs) in the fifth round of a brawl to retain the WBO Latino junior middleweight title. They were trading punches for nearly the entire fight. At the end ofthe fight, Macial started landing punches against the ropes and the referee jumped in as if he was stopping the action, but he started to give Julio a count. Julio began to walk away as if he no longer wanted to fight and the referee waved off the contest.

Maciel will now move forward to a fight with Vanes Martirosyan on April 6th in Macau, China.

Middleweight prospect Carlos Gabriel Ozan (9-0, 3KOs) destroyed Modesto Rodriguez (10-8-1, 8KOs) with a first round knockout. Rodrigudez went down face first twice. The second time he went down for the full count.

Lightweight Ana Laura Esteche (8-2-1, 2KOs) won a six round unanimous decision over Maria Angelica Ruiz (4-3-1).

Carlos Daniel Aquino (6-0, 5KOs) won a four round unanimous decision over previoslu undefeated junior welterweight prospect Alfredo Rodolfo Blanco (5-1, 2KOs).

Super featherweight Maria Eugenia Quiroga (6-8-2) won a four round unanimous decision over Maria Eugenia Lopez.
