Coldwell Boxing are delighted to announce the capture of promising Yorkshire boxer, Jamie Hughes. The former amateur star, who amassed 26 wins from 31 contests, was a highly-sought after prospect after capturing multiple titles whilst boxing in the unpaid code and his reputation was widely acknowledged throughout the domestic vest scene. Promoter Dave Coldwell is delighted with his latest acquisition.
Jamie is a quality boxer and weve got some really big ideas for what we want to do with him, buzzed an ecstatic Coldwell. Hes a tricky southpaw and hell give lots of people problems on the way to the top. Robert McCracken speaks highly of him and he should know because he had Jamie in sparring with Carl Froch when Carl was preparing for his world title shot against Lucien Bute. For Froch to use him in preparation for such an important fight speaks volumes of Jamies ability and Im confident that he can carve out a successful career for himself.
Hughes will campaign at light-heavyweight and is scheduled to makes his professional bow on the Curtis Woodhouse v Dave Ryan card on September 28th subject to licence.
