The last we saw of James Kirkland it was on the night of May 9th, 2015 at the Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas, where he was stopped brutally by Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez in three rounds. For that fight he was without the services of trainer Anne Wolfe, with whom he had split.

Well, now they're back together and have been training in Austin for the past few weeks.

"He's back with Anne Wolfe and we hope to have a fight for him in September,"said Mike Miller, who advises Kirkland, to BoxingScene.com.

Currently, Kirkland has about ten weeks left on an existing promotional deal with SMS Promotions. Miller says he has requested a release from that contract.

"They've only fought him once in three years and they're not doing any fights or have any promotions upcoming. There's nothing that they can do for James unfortunately," said Miller of 50 Cent's venture into boxing which has been a flop and has basically shuttered it's operations.

Miller tells BoxingScene that already a couple of promotional firms have reached out to inquire about Kirkland, who at 32 years old has a record of 32-2 (28 KO's).

So how did this union - which has been so volatile, at times - get put back together?

"I think they both realized that they were the best pair for each other,"stated  Miller, how noted that Wolfe took part in the upcoming 'Wonder Woman' movie."It's like 'Peaches and Herb' - reunited and it feels so good. So that can be playing in the background in the gym."
