James DeGale-George Groves is Coming Together

By Terence Dooley

James DeGale's maiden British super middleweight title defense against George Groves has been provisionally pencilled in for April 9 according to the BBBoC’s latest championship circular.  There had been talk of Frank Warren hosting the fight on his upcoming May 21 bill.  However, Hayemaker’s Head of Boxing, David Coldwell, has secured London’s Olympia for the domestic grudge match.

That said, Frank Maloney has a show on that night, Stuart Hall versus John Donnelly; one would expect that both cards would normally be aired by Sky TV, meaning that one of them will have to give if the DeGale-Groves battle goes ahead as scheduled.

Both men have called repeatedly for this one, it looks like their rivalry will be settled once and for all come April 9 unless there is a new development ahead of that date.

Although I'm not impressed with DeGale and Groves, it's a good fight.
