Jack, Arias, Bellows and Gavril Win Bouts in Las Vegas

By Rick Reeno

MGM Grand in Las Vegas - Super middleweight prospect Ronald Gavril (4-0, 3KOs) stopped Roberto Young (5-7-2, 4KOs) in the third round after a barrage of punches against the ropes.

Luis "Cuba" Arias (5-0, 3KOs) got a tough night of work with a six round majority decision victory over DonYil Livingston (8-3-1, 4KOs) in a super middleweight contest. The scores were 57-57, 58-56 and 58-55.

Super middleweight prospect Badou Jack (14-0, 10KOs) stopped Michael Gbenga (16-8, 16KOs) in three. In the third, Gbenga went down from a hard right hand shot to the body and once he beat the count he advised the referee that he wouldn't continue any further. It appeared Gbenga was complaining of a low blow but the referee disagreed and waved it off.

Super middleweight prospect Lanell Bellows (4-0, 4KOs) stopped Matt Garretson (2-1, 1KOs) in the fourth and final round in a battle of unbeaten prospects. Bellows battered him from round to round until referee Kenny Bayless waved it off.
