It was business as usual at the Coliseo Roberto Clemente in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Ivan Calderon (31-0, 6KOs) retained his WBO junior flyweight title with a one-sided twelve round decision over Nelson Dieppa (25-5-2, 14KOs).

As Dieppa predicted before the fight, Calderon would use his quick feet to always stay one step ahead. And as Calderon predicted, he would run, but make plenty of stops to land quick combinations. Dieppa said he would chase him, and he did, as Calderon busted him up for brave effort. The scores were 120-108 across the table. Dieppa, a former junior flyweight champ, has now lost 3 of his last 4 fights.

Prior to Dieppa, there had been some talk of a unification bout with IBF champ Ulises Solis. Some of the Puerto Rican press had said that Dieppa was a tuneup on the road to Solis.
