Russian boxer Maxim Vlasov and Ismayl Sillakh of Ukraine have signed contracts to fight each other on the 2nd of June, according to fight promoter Zaki Yunis.

Former light heavyweight title challenger Ismayl Sillakh (23-2) is currently serving as a sparring partner for unbeaten Cuban Sullivan Barrera (17-0) in Big Bear, Calif. Barrera faces Andre Ward (28-0) on March 26th in a HBO televised main event.

Ukrainian light heavyweight contender Ismayl Sillakh is one of the few fighters to have had the opportunity to spar with both Andre Ward and Sullivan Barrera.

Alex Khanas of Fight Promotions Inc. staged a nice-packed little show at the Circus in Kryviy Rih, Ukraine, deeply filled with amateur talent and some more recognizable names, which ended just moments ago. In the main event, rising middleweight star Ievgen Khytrov (12-0, 11 KOs) produced a very strong candidate for knockout of 2015, when he almost beheaded American import Josh Luteran (14-3, 9 KOs) in round two with a scary right hook to the jaw. Luteran, 30, went down face-first being unconscious even before he hit the canvas. He was down for several frightening minutes before regaining consiousness.

Cruiserweight Sergey Radchenko (3-0) barely cruised past another Uzbek Murod Azimov (6-4-1, 3 KOs). Both fighters engaged in very viscous confrontation and later war of attrition. Radchenko was slightly better though Azimov came back strong in the closing seconds of the eighth and final round. Scores were: 79-75 (x2) - for Radchenko, and 76-76.

In what can be described as an unannounced, informal card featuring four of Wladimir Klitschko’s former sparring partners – Umar Salamov, Ismayl Sillakh, Yago Kiladze and Sergey Radchenko – will take place on June 13 in Cherkassy, Ukraine. Non-surprisingly, a whole card is promoted by K2. In what can be bannered as the main event, WBO #13 20-year old Kiev-based Russian Umar Salamov (12-0, 10 KOs) will put his WBO European title at risk versus Czech veteran Tomas Adamek (23-10-2, 9 KOs), not to be confused with a two-time Polish world champion of the same name.

WBA cruiserweight champion Denis Lebedev (25-2, 19KOs) was trading punches in the gym with the "Black Russian" Ismayl Sillakh. Lebedev's new trainer, Freddie Roach, was supervising in the corner. This Saturday night at the Dynamo Palace of Sports in Krylatskoye, Moscow, Russia- Lebdev will defend his title against top undefeated challenger Pawel Kolodziej (33-0, 18KOs) of Poland.

Transnational Boxing Rankings Board (TBRB) # 5 cruiserweight Denis Lebedev (25-2, 19 KOs) is all but set for the first defense of his now re-united WBA 200lb title against undefeated TBRB #9 Pole Pawel Kolodziej (33-0, 18 KOs). The fight will be co-feature of a major Russian-Polish collision on Sep. 27 at Dynamo Ice Palace in Moscow, Russia, under Andrey Ryabinskiy’s promotion, the main event being a bout between TBRB #3 Krzysztof Wlodarczyk and TBRB #7 Grigory Drozd.

Soon to be cruiserweight contender Ismayl Sillakh (21-2, 17KOs) is very familiar with WBO light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev. Sillakh suffered a vicious second round knockout loss at the hands of Kovalev in November of 2013. This coming November, Kovalev (25-0-1, 23KOs) will take part in a unification showdown with WBA/IBF champion Bernard Hopkins (55-6-2, 32KOs). BoxingScene caught up with Sillakh, who in his younger days was a highly decorated amateur with a 302-16 record, to get his thoughts on the fight.

Longtime light heavyweight contender Ismayl Sillakh (21-2, 17KOs) is making a lot of changes in his career. One of the biggest, is his decision to leave the light heavyweight division behind. Sillakh is moving up to the cruiserweight division, a jump of 25-pounds, where the lanky 6'3 fighter believes he will be better suited for battle. In his last fight, on November 30th against WBO 175-pound champion Sergey Kovalev, Sillakh was stopped in two rounds.
