Ingle: Hatton Put England on 147 Map, Now Brook Will!

Dominic Ingle, trainer of Kell Brook (32-0, 22KOs), says his fighter will place England back on the map at welterweight - repeating an accomplishment by Manchester hero Ricky Hatton, who flew to America to defeat Luis Collazo for the WBA welterweight crown in 2006.

This Saturday at the StubHub Center in Carson, California - Brook will get his own title opportunity on American soil when he challenges Shawn Porter (24-0-1, 15KOs) for the IBF championship in the main event of a Showtime televised tripleheader.

"Coming to the U.S. doesn’t faze us. We’ve been in this situation before. Once you’re in that ring you could be anywhere in the world. It doesn’t matter where you are; when you’re in that ring you could be on the moon. Anything can happen," Ingle said.

“When Ricky Hatton boxed, he had some tough fights in America and won the title. And he put England back on the map in the welterweight division. And now Kell is here to do the same thing."

“No stone has been left unturned for this fight.  Shawn Porter is a tough guy –he surprised a few people when he beat Devon Alexander –and we’re not taking him lightly. He’s a champion, we’re in the U.S. and we’re here to take the belt."

He was good at 140 but even then he ducked Witter for years and got absolutely wrecked by Pacquiao. He is overrated, with his only other big win outside of Paulie was beating a washed up Kostya.

No one can come close to Hatton's popularity which once was in the Uk.
