In a recent report on Eurosport , Shane Mosley, a partner in Golden Boy Promotions, is hoping that Oscar De La Hoya beats Floyd Mayweather, Jr. on May 5 in Las Vegas, for reasons other than seeing his company partner prevaile. Mosley feels that if De La Hoya wins the fight, the chances of Mayweather moving back down to 147-pounds to face him will be higher. De La Hoya will be Mayweather's first bout at 154-pounds, with the WBC junior middleweight title on the line. Mayweather has claimed for the last few months that De La Hoya will be his final opponent before he retires at the age of 30-years-old.

"I think it would probably best maybe if Oscar beats Floyd," Mosley said. "because then Floyd will come back down to 147lbs and fight me. If Floyd beats Oscar, then Floyd basically retires and probably doesn't fight again."

Mosley noted that De La Hoya is really focused for the bout with Floyd, and training for the May meeting like no other.

"I know that Oscar has been in the gym and he has been training," he said. "He is probably fluctuating around 162lbs, 163lbs to like 168lbs when I have been seeing him. So he has been keeping himself in shape. He has been doing a lot of sparring. He should be ready for the fight."
