A proposed deal for a welterweight showdown between Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto, for November 14 in Las Vegas, is inching closer to a deal. The bout, scheduled for a catch-weight of 145-pounds, is being negotiated by Bob Arum of Top Rank, who promote both fighters.

Most of the details have been hammered out with Cotto and his team, and now it's Pacquiao's turn to review the listed terms for the fight. Pacquiao’s adviser Mike Koncz, went over the details with Arum and plans to review the terms with Pacquiao this weekend.

Pacquiao’s lawyer, Franklin Gacal, said the deal should not be any less than a 65-35 split in Pacquiao's favor. He says the final decision will come down to Pacquiao.

“We haven’t seen it but if we don’t like it we make a counter-proposal,” said Gacal to ABS CBN News. “It’s Manny who will make the final decision. He will decide on the weight but regarding the purse it shouldn’t be lower than 65 percent for Manny,” said Gacal.

[QUOTE=prsi;5632471]I beleive the fight will be signed at 60/40 or a little more. I must admit that Pacman is the Money guy in this fight because of his current standing in boxing, and he will have the edge in the purse, however Pacman is not stupid. If Cotto doesn't land this fight he will...
