BoxingScene.com has learned that if Top Rank is able to finalize their event for August 22 in San Francisco, California, look for WBO minimumweight champion Donnie Nietes (24-1, 14KOs) of the Philippines to appear on the undercard. Nietes will defend his title against interim-champion Manuel Vargas (26-3-1, 11KOs) of Mexico.

As previously reported by BoxingScene's Ronnie Nathanielsz, the main event would feature IBF/IBO flyweight champion Nonito �The Filipino Flash� Donaire moving up in weight to challenge WBO super flyweight champion Jose �Carita� Lopez. Also mentioned for the show is IBF light flyweight champion Brian Viloria.
