Undefeated Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. wants to avenge the honor of his family by knocking out Oscar De La Hoya. In 1996 and 1998, De La Hoya battered and bruised Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. The young son has waited a long time to get revenge for his father. Right now Chavez Jr. is mending a bruised hand from his last fight and plans to return in March. There is some talk that his March opponent may end up being Matthew Hatton, brother of Ricky.

Even with the crushing eight round domination by Manny Pacquiao, Chavez Jr. believes that Oscar still carries a very big name and the fight could do very big business if they hold it in Azteca Stadium in Mexico, which holds over 100,000 fans.

"I would be very pleased with that fight. It doesn't matter what happens, the name of De La Hoya will always carry a lot of weight. It is true that his name is a little devalued because nobody believed that Manny Pacquiao would beat him," Cahvez Jr. told Prensa Asociada. "I don't think that Oscar is finished. The Pacquiao fight affected him simply because he didn't fight at 147 pounds for nine years and he was no longer the same [at the weight]."

He admits that De La Hoya is not at a good point in his career, but he says De La Hoya still has enough left to step inside the ring with him and make the fight happen.

"Although he is not in one of his better moments, he is not finished as it appeared to be the case before the fight with Pacquiao. Oscar used my dad. What De La Hoya did at the time was beat a Julio Cesar Chavez who was at the end if his career and used my father's name to build everything that he now has." Chavez Jr. said.
