WBC featherweight champion Oscar Larios (64-6-1, 40 KOs) survived a fourth-round scare after being dropped by previously unbeaten Takahiro Aoh (16-1-1, 8 KOs), to pull out a split-decision in Tokyo, Japan. The scores were 114-112, 115-111 for Larios and 112-114 for Aoh.

There are conflicting reports over who should have won the fight, which usually tells us that the fight was close. One report suggests that Aoh should have been the winner, while several others say that Larios dominated the late rounds.

Also on the card, WBC bantamweight champ Hozumi Hasegawa (25-2, 9 KOs)  stopped Alejandro Valdez (21-3-1, 15 KOs) in the second round. A left hook sent Valdez down, then Hasegawa closed the show with a flurry of punches.

"I didn't think it would end with a knockout," Hasegawa said. "I thought it would go to a decision, so I'm very pleased."
