Former Ukrainian amateur star (one of the latest galaxy of Ukrainian amateur superstars who have shifted to the paid ranks since the last Olympics) Ievgen Khytrov (5-0, 5 KOs) chooses not to waste any time for meaningless tune-ups.
Fresh off his latest signing with Iron Mike Productions, Khytrov, who last fought in June and stopped experienced journeyman Chris Chatman in three, will continue his way up on August 8 at the CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh, PA, when he takes on experienced veteran Willie Fortune (17-1, 8 KOs), who has a win over Donatas Bondorovas on his resume. The fight is set for six rounds.
The contest will be part of a FOX Sports televised card. In the main event, two unbeatens collide as local hero James Stevenson (21-0, 14 KOs) takes on Samuel Vazquez (15-0, 11 KOs) for a vacant USBA welterweight title over twelve rounds of action.
