Humberto Soto Working Hard For Matthysse Showdown

By Miguel Rivera

Former champion Humberto Soto is experiencing an excellent atmosphere in his ongoing training camp. "Zorrita" Soto is concentrated at the high altitude of Cuautitlan Izcalli, preparing for his tough battle on the 23rd of June at Staples Center against Argentine fighter Lucas Matthysse (30-2-1, 28 KOs).

Soto (57-7-2-1, 34 KOs) feels a win over Matthysse will lead to a big title shot at 140-pounds.

"We are working very comfortable with full motivation. We know the fight is scheduled for ten rounds, but it has the same importance a world championship fight because we know [the fight can determine] the future of my career," said Soto. "On June 23rd, all of our efforts and sacrifices will be apparent [in the ring]. There will be a big celebration after the fight with Matthysse."

I'm sooo looking forward to this fight. Matthysse is one of boxing's most underrated.
