The former triple world champion Humberto "Zorrita" Soto will face Jose "Piston" Lopez on November 10 in Ecatepec, Mexico - according to his mentor, Antonio "Cañitas" Lozada.
On the same card, the Tijuana puncher Antonio "Cañas" Lozada Jr. (28-1, 24 KOs) will exchange shrapnel with Edgar "Finito" Yanez in a ten round welterweight bout.
"Zorrita" Soto is training in Mexico with his team headed by Bobby Quirarte. His manager, "Cañitas" Lozada, said the boxer is very motivated after suffering a TKO loss to Lucas Matthysse in June, and still plans to pursue the opportunity to contest for a fourth world title in his fourth division.
"The loss to Lucas Matthysse was a bad night and now he return with renewed vigor. He will be 100% prepared for the fight with Piston Lopez," said Lozada, also the director of Baja Boxing.
"Piston" Lopez is the current welterweight champion of the World Boxing Federation, after defeating Emilio Perea.
Humberto Soto, 32, has a record of 58-8, 34 knockouts and two draws. "Piston", 21, accumulated a record of 17-2-1, and a draw.
