Humberto Soto Decisions Montes Over Twelve Rounds

Los Mochis, Mexico - Former multi-division champion Humberto Soto (62-8-2, 35KOs) retained his World Boxing Council International junior welterweight championship with a twelve round unanimous decision over rookie sensation Mahonri "Russo" Montes (28-3) at the  Sports Centenario in Los Mochis, Sinaloa. The scores were 117-112, 118-110 and 115-113. Humberto Soto wants to get a major title shot in 2014. Soto is moving up the ranks of the WBC, where the current champion is Danny Garcia and he may move up in weight.

Lightweight contender Adrian Estrella (14-0, 14 KOs) continued his run of vicious knockouts with a fourth round stoppage of Cesar Vazquez (25-3, 16 KOs).

Junior welterweight Ramiro Alcaraz (14-2-1, 8 KOs) shocked Antonio Lozada (32-2, 28 KOs), who suffered a hand injury during the contest, to win an an eight round unanimous decision.

Can't see Soto dethroning Danny Swift. But it would be a fun fight to watch.
