Hugo Ruiz Targets Chemito Moreno, Koki Kameda Bouts

By Miguel Rivera

In a division with three WBA bantamweight champions, Hugo Ruiz (30-1, 27KOs) wants to set the record straight. Ruiz, the WBA's interim-champion at bantamweight, wants to face "regular" champion Koki Kameda (28-1, 17KOs) of Japan and the "super champion" at bantamweight, Anselmo 'Chemito' Moreno (32-1-1, 11KOs).

Ruiz is the mandatory to Kameda's title and the two are likely to meet each other in the fall.

"What I want to do is to prove that I'm the best bantamweight under the World Boxing Association. I am the interim champion, while the other champion is Koki Kameda, and the super champion is Chemito. Now is the time to fight them, and decide which fighter of the three is the best WBA world champion," Ruiz said.
