Hugo Cazares, the WBA super flyweight champion, is ready for Saturday's defense against hard puncher Arturo "Fuerte" Badillo of Tijuana. The fight headlines a big card at Plaza de Toros Eduardo Fontanet in Mazatlan, Mexico. Cazares is tired of fighting second tier competition. He wants the big fights, including unifications with the other champions at super flyweight and moving up in weight to challenge the champions at bantamweight.
"I'm going to knock Badillo out and then I'll be ready for unification. I want to measure myself against Tomas Rojas, Cristian Mijares, Vic Darchinyan or Koki Kameda. I want to prove to myself that I can compete with great fighters. Arturo is a good fighter, hungry to excel. I will be very much alive. I am in excellent condition and I trained very hard. I'm coming to put on a great show," Cazares said.
Badillo preferred to say little: "I have the weapons to defeat Cazares.'ll Go out to give everything and I will take the title to Tijuana. The strong part of my training I did in the mountains of Temoaya, I feel very strong. I like to talk to fists in the ring. "
