Another world heavyweight title could be coming back to the Fury family on April 1.

The fight had been agreed recently with the venue proving to be the sticking point. Hughie took to Twitter last Friday to say "Venue set, New Zealand here we come. Bringing our belt back home."

Peter Fury, Hughie's father and trainer, who guided Tyson to WBO, IBF, IBO and WBA glory in November 2015 spoke to Boxing Scene to confirm the news.

"It is good news. Very happy and looking forward to it."

While the fight will take place in the champion's homeland, there is still no definite news on what city will hold the fight.

"It'll probably be Auckland, yes, I assume so. I've not got the exact details of that but I assume it is."

With the logistics being sorted out just before Peter spoke to ‘Scene, he added that his son will likely fly out two weeks before the fight itself to acclimatise himself to the time difference and conditions.

Hughie, undefeated in 20 fights and the WBO's number two contender may only be 22 years old but his father is confident this world title shot is coming at the right time.

"I think it is coming at the right time,” he continued. “He's had some good learning fights. Don't forget he's been in with some very good veterans as well like Dominick Guinn, Fred Kassi. These are all not world beaters, but very awkward and good world level men to spoil your plans. He's had good learning fights. Let's not forget [Andriy] Rudenko as well. He's had good durable fights, let's not forget [George] Arias as well. All people that don't get stopped. He's got a good grounding, a good learning. He's definitely ready, the time is right."

With the fight being away from home the immediate concern would be being treated fairly on the judges scorecards should the fight go the distance.

But, as Peter stated: "It's a square ring. It doesn't matter where it is. The main thing is to get that belt and bring it back home and that's exactly what we're going to do."

And Tyson proved against Wladimir Klitschko in Germany that being the away fighter doesn't matter, particularly if you outbox the champion and almost bamboozle him with your tactics. Peter Fury is confident that Parker will never have seen anything like his son before and says the team are looking at the challenger being a convincing winner.

"When you're the champion and you're going into their back yard, and it's a close fight, then you can't expect your hand to be lifted. You've got to go there and take it off the champion. You need to be a convincing winner anyway. That's what we're looking at anyway. We're not looking at an absolute 100% clean verdict because we're fighting away, he's in his home town, we've got to really look at it in a realistic light. The champion, if it's touch and go, will deserve to keep hold of his belt. That's just the way it is.

"He might think he's fought someone as good (as Hughie), and better, but he hasn't and he will see that on the night. But that's what makes this fight a genuine 50-50 fight. Styles make fights and I can tell you now he'll never have faced anyone like Hughie before."

Team Fury are confident but they're certainly not underestimating the champion.

"He's strong isn't he? He's strong, he's athletic, he can go the rounds, he's durable, he's got fast hands. He ticks a lot of the boxes for a heavyweight. He's pretty mobile, so he's a good fighter. Can't really pick holes in him. Hughie needs to be on his a-game to lift that belt. This fight can swing either way, it's a serious fight for anybody."

And what of Hughie's cousin, Tyson? The former undisputed heavyweight king tested positive for cocaine last year and gave up his heavyweight titles after various issues outside the ring. Will the 'Gypsy King' be back. We asked his uncle if he expects his nephew to be back in the ring in 2017.

"I have no idea. I've not spoken much with him at all. I think he's just treading water. He is in the gym and hopefully we will see him back this year."
