WBO cruiserweight champion Marco Huck (38-2-1, 26 KOs) is fully focused on securing a showdown with heavyweight king Wladimir Klitschko (62-3, 52 KOs), who in a few weeks will defend his title against mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev. Huck is going as far as to break his ten year promotional relationship with Sauerland Event, because he believes it will make things easier to make the Klitschko fight.

"The fight against Klitschko will probably take place in 2016, staging it before that will be tough. I will pursue this fight, this is my priority. Klitschko is the best fighter in his weight class, it would no doubt be an interesting confrontation," Huck said.

Huck also denied recently published information that he rejected a potential unification offer to face then WBC champion Krzysztof already Wlodarczyk (49-3- 1, 35 KOs).

"I never had a single proposal from the Polish side. I'm not lying, they are lying. There was no proposal, not even one. They always came from the Sauerland. I said that I definitely want to fight a unification. They replied that they would try to get it down. The group behind Wlodarczyk knows that I am a very popular boxer in Germany, so they demanded a large sum of money that couldn't be paid. As a result, the fight never happened. Wlodarczyk later tried to kill himself. The sheer thought of having a fight with me, made him want to jump out the window," Huck stated in reference to Wlodarczyk's suicide attempt (overdose) in 2011.
