Russian promoter Vladimir "красивый" Hryunov has approached UFC President Dana White to discuss the possibility of staging a cross-sport battle between 44-year-old former champion Roy Jones Jr. (57-8, 40KOs) and former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva (33-5 in MMA, 16-1 in the UFC), 38-years-old.

Earlier this year, Chris Weidman (10-0) knocked out Silva in the second round, snapping Silva's near seven year undefeated run and 16-0 streak in the UFC. Their rematch is scheduled to take place this coming Saturday.

Hryunov wants to get together with White to stage a major UFC event in Russia, with Jones vs. Silva as the main event.

"Today, we once again spoke with UFC president Dana White and we've decided to await the outcome of the upcoming fight between Silva and Chris Weidmann. [After the fight is over], there is going to be an analysis of the financial component. The fact is -Silva is a great athlete, but he's not a boxer, and the fight is going to take place under the rules of professional boxing," Hryunov said.
