As reported yesterday, well known international promoter Vladimir Hryunov was hospitalized after he was attacked by unknown individuals late night Thursday/early Friday morning.

More details have been revealed by Hryunov himself. He was attacked by four individuals near home, located in the north of Moscow. The reason for the attack or why it went down is still unknown at the present.

He says he was jumped from behind by four young men who hit him over the head with a metal object. The beating stopped once the assailants were seen by witnesses walking down the street. At that point the four men fled on foot.

Now all the circumstances of the incident is being investigated by local law enforcement officers. Hryunov did not suffer any serious damage, but there were multiple soft tissue injuries to his face and head. The promoter is now back home and said to be doing well.

"It happened last night, I was attacked by four young men. I took a heavy blow to the head. There were people passing by and the criminals fled," said Hryunov.

Hryunov is the current promoter of Fedor and Dmitry Chudinov, Alexander Ustinov, and several others. He's been staging shows in Russia as of late with Roy Jones Jr. headlining the cards. In the past Hryunov has worked closely with fighters such as Alexander Povetkin, Oleg Maskaev and Denis Lebedev.
