Ricards Bolotniks has fired back at Hosea Burton ahead of their Golden Contract light heavyweight semi-final showdown – telling him to prepare for a ‘gladiatorial battle.’

Ricards Bolotniks admits that fighting in Latvia will give him a huge advantage ahead of his Golden Contract light heavyweight semi-final against Hosea Burton. Hometown hero Bolotniks (16-5-1, 7 KOs) welcomes Burton (25-1, 11 KOs) to Riga for their showdown on September 26, live on IFL TV, with a place in the final of the Golden Contract light-heavyweight tournament at stake.

Hosea Burton isn’t letting his trip to Latvia deter him ahead of his Golden Contract semi-final with Ricards Bolotniks – insisting that his opponent may struggle to even get through round one. Burton (25-1, 11 KOs) heads to Riga to face Bolotniks (16-5-1, 7 KOs) on September 26, live on IFL TV, with a place in the final of the Golden Contract light-heavyweight tournament at stake.

The upcoming Golden Contract details were revealed for the light heavyweight semi-finals. Hosea Burton, Liam Conroy, Ricards Bolotniks and Serge Michel are the four fighters remaining in the competition, with the two semi-finals set to take place on separate dates next month.

Hosea Burton has made it clear that the most important thing right now is for everybody to stay healthy – following the postponement of the Golden Contract light-heavyweight semi-finals. Due to the Coronavirus outbreak, the planned Golden Contract event that was due to take place on Friday at York Hall will now be held at a later date.

The British Boxing Board of Control (BBBoC) has announced that all events in March that fall under its jurisdiction have now been cancelled. Shows around the world have been pulled off the schedule at an alarming rate due to the ongoing coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, with the BBBoC officially following suit.

Golden Contract favourite Hosea Burton has warned rivals he’s become even more dangerous ahead of the semi-finals at York Hall on March 20. The towering ‘Hammer’ felled and outpointed Bob Ajisafe in the quarter-finals and now moves on to star in London on a show broadcast on Sky Sports in the UK in association with Matchroom Boxing and on ESPN+ in the US in association with Top Rank.

All of the 'Golden Contract' semifinalists now have a set date and location for their next ring adventure. The four remaining combatants for the light heavyweight batch of MTK Global's 'Golden Contract' tournament will next step foot in the ring on March 20 at York Hall in Bethnal Green, London, England. As is the case with all brackets—including those at featherweight and junior welterweight—the actual matchups will come via live blind draw during fight week, with the shows airing live on Sky Sports in the United Kingdom and ESPN+ in the United States.

At the Brentwood Centre in Brentwood, MTK Global held the light heavyweight version of their Golden Contract tournament. In a shocker, Ricards Bolotniks (16-5-1, 7 KOs) crushed that man who some felt was the tournament favorite, undefeated, Steven Ward (12-1), with a knockout in the first round.

Make no bones about it the career of Hosea Burton should be in much better condition than it is right now. The former British Light Heavyweight champion has had an unrewarding three years since he lost his title to Frank Buglioni in Manchester. The same night that Dillian Whyte and Dereck Chisora gave us a heavyweight barnburner that would get more credit if it had been in the seventies.
