Trainer Glenn Rushton, who gruides the career of WBO welterweight champion Jeff Horn (18-0-1, 12 KOs), is very confident that his boxer is going to shock the world in the next few months.
On April 14 at New York's Madison Square Garden, Horn is scheduled to make a mandatory world title defense against Terence Crawford (32-0, 23 KOs).
Horn captured the WBO title last July, with a twelve round unanimous decision over Manny Pacquiao in a major upset at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, Australia.
Horn retained his title for the first time in December, with a stoppage victory over British contender Gary Concoran.
Crawford is regarding as one the top pound-for-pound fighters in the sport. Some list him as the top man of the pound-for-pound rankings.
In 2017, Crawford unified the entire junior welterweight division with a third round knockout of Julius Indongo to unite the WBO, IBF, WBA, WBC world titles.
Rushton has really been studying the undefeated challenger and he believes that his game plan, along with Horn's skills, will be more than enough to overcome anything that Crawford brings to the table.
"We're going to prepare really, really well," Rushton said Sydney Morning Herald.
"I've done an incredible amount of research on Crawford. We're going to back ourselves 100 percent. There will be no second prize for us. We go in with one thought only, and that is to win the fight.
"You've got to do that. I've seen a lot of guys in these fights look like they are trying to survive. That's not us ... we are there to win. Like Pacquiao did at the end of the first round, Crawford is going to know he's in the fight of his life. He won't be able to cruise for a second.
"We don't want to just fight well, we want to win. We don't have a Plan B, or think 'if we do well this door opens'. We want to win. That's our focus. We leave no stone unturned to make that happen. We just want to get over there and represent Australia to the best of our ability."
