On October 3rd, one of Golden Boy’s flagship fighters Lucas Matthysse was stopped by Viktor Postol. This past weekend another star fighter in the Golden Boy stable, David Lemiuex, was stopped by Golovkin.

Next month, Golden Boy’s biggest star Saul "Canelo" Alvarez will take on Miguel Cotto for the WBC middleweight crown. Should Alvarez lose, it would be a very bad streak for the company to close things out in 2105.

When BoxingScene.com interviewed Max Kellerman in California he said, “Golden Boy has the right approach to the sport.”

Bernard Hopkins says the trend will continue no matter what happens in November with Cotto-Canelo.

“We have November (Cotto-Canelo) coming and its coming to climax,” Hopkins told BoxingScene.com. “So when you put your hat in the race to see who comes out sometimes you get burned, sometimes you come out unscathed. We still have one more fight left in this year. We’re not going to change how we do business.”

Hopkins says Golden Boy makes fights that the fans want to see and says only a few others are on board with doing the same.

“To the other promoters, the writers, the critics, and the fans, we (Golden Boy) are really making the fights by talking about the matchups they want, “Hopkins said.

“We hear them, I don’t know about everybody else. I do know about everybody else like Triple G’s people and Roc Nation's people who have Cotto, they want to make the best fights. So we have a few people minds [that] think the same.”
