A source with knowledge of the details has advised BoxingScene.com that Barclays Center in Brooklyn is no longer in the running as a possible venue to host the light heavyweight unification between Bernard Hopkins and Sergey Kovalev.

While the venue initially expressed interest in securing the fight, the executives at the location have apparently removed Barclays from contention because of a "Live Nation music event" being staged at the venue on November 1.

Atlantic City has now become a frontrunner to host the HBO televised fight, which is going to be co-promoted by Golden Boy Promotions and Main Events.
