IBF light heavyweight champion Bernard Hopkins tells Jeff Powell of Daily Mail that he wants Carl Froch (30-2, 22KOs) to defeat Mikkel Kessler in their unification rematch on May 25th - because Hopkins wants to fight him next. Hopkins has a mandatory defense of his title on July 13th against Karo Murat.

"Froch is top of my wish list. I have great respect for him as a fighter. He is very exciting and our styles would make for a great fight. I will happily go over to the UK to make it happen but of course Carl will have to beat Kessler first. I am rooting for him to do it and I think he will win this time," Hopkins said.

Hopkins would even face Froch before WBO light heavyweight champion Nathan Cleverly.

"Cleverly is a possibility for later this year but Froch is my preference if we can get it made."
Really? I mean I love Bhop, he is one of my all time favorite fighters. But he would dominate Carl Froch? Like, Carl Froch circa 2013? I just don't see it. Bhop seems to have some magic formula for not aging, but the truth is he doesn't. The man is almost 50 year old, and while what he...
Hopkins is sick and tired of ruining good American fighter's careers. Andre Ward would become Kelly Pavlik 2.0. Would be sad to see a man of faith turn to the bottle.
LOL. Ward would retire BHop. Not even close. It would be clinical.
BHOP knows what he's doing. He's famous for schooling slower, flat-footed, slugger types. This fight would mirror the Cloud fight or better yet, Ward's dismantling of Froch.
I am not even a huge Froch fan but come on he is light years better then Cloud.

Hopkins cant forget how he lost to Calzaghe and now he wants to avenge his loss..."You're not even in my league! I would never let a white boy beat me. I would never lose to a white boy. I couldn't go back to the projects if I let a white boy beat me"
