Former two division world champion Bernard Hopkins will turn 52-years-old in January - but he still wants to have at least one more fight to say farewell to his fans.

Hopkins (55-7-2, 32KOs) has been inactive since losing a twelve round decision in a light heavyweight unification with Sergey Kovalev in November of 2014.

Since that defeat - he tried, without success, to secure world title fights against Arthur Abraham and Carl Froch. He was even considering the idea of fighting Gennady Golovkin at a catch-weight of 168-pounds.

At the moment Hopkins is staying very busy outside the ring. The veteran has an executive position with Golden Boy Promotions, and he's been making regular appearances on HBO's airwaves as an expert analyst.

Hopkins is not starving to fight again, but if the right opportunity comes along in the next couple of months, he would like to step in the ring one final time.

"I would love to do a farewell fight if possible, but it would have to be done on a dignified and respectful way. Not making a joke, someone always says 'are you going to fight one more?' I deserve to go out like Kobe Bryant or better," Hopkins said.

"At the end of the day, I love working with HBO. I love working with Jim Lampley, Max Kellerman and all of the people at HBO. I love being involved with Golden Boy Promotions. So, I'm not bored. I travel a lot. I still spend time with my family as much as I can. They understand my passion for boxing and this is what I love to do. So whether or not I fight again, you will see me more than you ever saw me in the ring."
