Former unified middleweight and light heavyweight champion Bernard Hopkins (55-7-2, 32 KO's) is confident he'd be capable of beating a fighter like IBO/IBF/WBA/WBC 160-pound champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (36-0, 33KOs).

He tried to get a catch-weight bout with Golovkin last year at 168-pounds, but the fight never came off.

Hopkins does have a dog in the race. He's a top executive at Golden Boy Promotions, who guide the career of Golovkin's main target, Mexican superstar Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez - who returns on Saturday against WBO junior middleweight champion Liam Smith at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Hopkins would like to have a final fight in 2017 to say farewell to his fans. He would certainly be up for a fight with someone on the level of Golovkin.

"Yes [I would beat him]. You know why I would beat a guy like Triple G? I would come in there with a matador suit on versus a bull. You would see a matador, which is me, versus a big, strong bull that, at any second, could wipe me out," Hopkins said.

"I would be the matador versus the bull. That's how I would promote that fight and that's what the title would be. I would neutralise, I would be a ballet dancer in that ring. You can't hit what you can't see."
