Holyfield To Make Things Right After Tyson Hoax in Dubai

Five time heavyweight champion Evander ‘The Real Deal’ Holyfield and TV / music star Ray J will be the guests of honor at the World Championships for Arab Boxing to be held in Dubai in February.

Holyfield and Ray J, have officially accepted UAE based Golden Star Event Management’s invitation for the seven-card fight to be held at the Festival City in Dubai.

Evander Holyfield is the only four time undisputed heavy weight champion of the world. He fights with a passion that even today is unsurpassed in the boxing world.

”I want to thank Golden Star Event Management and the Dubai Sports Council for this special invitation to Dubai to be a guest of honor at the World Championship,  I look forward to seeing all of my Dubai fans in February,” says Holyfield.

The Dubai Sports Council-backed Arab Boxing Championships will feature 12 fights, of which 3 will be for amateurs and the remaining 9 will be for professional men and women boxers.
The championships, organized by Golden Star Event Management , has already attracted top boxing champions from the: US, Iraq, Switzerland, Russia, Netherlands, France, Tunisia, Egypt, Morocco, Surinam, Kuwait, Palestine, Spain, Colombia, Portugal, Turkey, Mauritania and hosts UAE.

The Holyfield move comes weeks after Mike Tyson said on Twitter that claims that he was scheduled to attend this event were false. He apologized to fans expecting him to visit the emirate and blamed a "bogus promotor".

In a post on his Twitter page, Tyson wrote: "There is a rumour about me being in Dubai on Jan 21st to do an appearance (at) a fight match. This is not true. I will not be there. Sorry to all my Dubai fans. Unfortunately, a bogus promoter pretending to represent me made an unlawful deal."
