Hoffman-Kretschmann Will Headline Card on Sept. 14

By Per Ake Persson

Timo Hoffmann, THE, and Arena Box Promotion join forces for a big open air show at the Tabea Buerger Park in Halle an der Saale on September 14.

Headlining is the German Oak himself, Big Timo Hoffmann, who faces former Arena fighter Steffen Kretschmann in what is a heavyweight showdown between local fighters with a lot to prove. Kretschmann left Arena after two losses to Dennis Bakhtov while Hoffmann, a veteran with his best days far behind, has lately plugged away on the local circuit promoting his own shows.

In the co-headliner Arena heavyweights Erkan Teper and Konstantin Airich square off. Airich broke Teper´s nose in sparring in June which forced Arena to cancel a show in Turkey where Teper was to have headlined. Erkan claims he was handling Airich with ease and is eager to prove he is the better man.

The show is televised by EuroSport.

What I remember Hoffmann nost for, is that of Vitaly Klitschko's first 40 fights (of 46 so far) Hoffmann was the only opponent to go the distance.
