There were purse bids today in Rome for Mariano Hilario΄s defense of the EU super middleweight title against former WBC ruler Cristian Sanavia. OPI 2000 won with a bid for 21,717 Euro. Rimer Box from Spain bid 11,113 Euro. Date and site is to be announced.

Hilario (11-2) won  the title earlier this year with an upset come from behind win over Frenchman Samy Anouche and has since defended the title with a points win over Roberto Cocco. In Sanavia (49-6-1) he face a still capable veteran, who however is not the force he was ten years ago when he beat Markus Beyer to won the WBC title.
