Hector Garcia Pulls Sanabria vs Bangoyan over WBC Rift

by Miguel Rivera

Promoter Hector Garcia of HG Boxing has pulled a planned fight that was scheduled for Saturday's card at Gimnasio Auditorio in Los Cabos, Baja California, Mexico. Alejandro Sanabria (31-1, 24KOs) was scheduled to defend his WBC lightweight silver title against Balweg Bangoyan (17-5, 7KOs). Apparently, Promociones del Pueblo, who promote Sanabria, never made a request to the WBC to sanction the fight. The WBC complained and Garcia is going to cooperate with the sanctioning body.

"The company that represents him did not send a request to the WBC to sanction the fight. Every time a title associated with the organization is being used, they must be notified. All of their champions have obligations to meet and the regulation is very clear in stating that whenever a champion enters the ring, to defend the title, he must obtain permission from the WBC to defend the belt."
