Hector Camacho Jr. will face off on December 17th against FORMER World Boxing Association (WBA) welterweight champion Andrew ‘Sixhead’ Lewis.

The main event which will take place at the Princess Hotel and Casino in Georgetown, Guyana, is being promoted by Seon Bristol of Briso Promotions.

With president of the Guyana Boxing Board of Control (GBBC) Peter Abdool and Sales Manager of Princess Hotel and Casino Nadine Higgs as witnesses, both Lewis and Alfred affixed their signatures to the respective contract to honour the date. Camacho remotely from New York City emailed a photograph of himself signing the contract.

“The GBBC is extremely happy to welcome back Seon Bristol to Guyana. The last time he was here, he brought Camacho Jr to face Denny ‘Deadly’ Dalton, where Camacho Jr. displayed a high level of boxing skill and technique to secure a comfortable victory. It is nice to know he (Camacho) is willing to take on Andrew. “This card will be giving boxing fans one of the biggest shows at the Princess Hotel and Casino, since we will be bringing back Andrew ‘Sixhead’ Lewis to face Hector ‘Macho’ Camacho Jr,” said Bristol. Abdool welcomed the idea to bring back Lewis, who he feels is probably one of the better boxers Guyana has produced.

Camacho Jr.’s record boasts an impressive 53-4-1 with 28 knockouts. Camacho Jr. intends to come into the fight with Six Heads in the best shape of his career. He wants to make an impression with a strong victory to show the boxing world he is serious and is back. He intends to finish 2011 strong and focused.

“I have been training so hard this year; everything is coming together. Six Heads is a former champion, so I know he will bring a strong fight. He’s a southpaw and a good puncher with great conditioning, but not a very skilled fighter. Once I beat Six Heads, I will continue to work towards the big fights and the top fighters.”

Following the fight with Six Heads, Camacho Jr. is set to go back into the gym, dropp to 147 and make a run for the welterweight championship.

“People are going to take notice when I come into the fight at 150, and in 2012 I want to get into the ring with any top 15 fighter in the 147 class. It’s time that I get back on top where I belong.”
