Promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport is confident with Kell Brook's ability to finish off IBF welterweight champion Shawn Porter (24-0-1, 15KOs) inside of twelve round rounds on August 16th at the StubHub Center in Carson, California. Brook, the undefeated mandatory challenger to the title, has stopped 22 of 32 opponents inside the distance. Brook stopped six of his last eight opponents and rides a four fight streak of victories by TKO.

Hearn told Sky Sports: “He’s in a great place physically and mentally, and I’m very confident about this fight. I just feel like he’s going to be too big and strong for Porter. I know Porter is big himself and looked devastating against Paulie Malignaggi, but I just feel like it’s Kell Brook’s time.

“I feel like he’s got so many more gears to give and levels to go, and mentally and physically he’s in such a good place. His weight is perfect. Porter is very confident at the moment, but when he feels Kell’s power I think it’s going to be a different story and I can’t see Porter lasting the twelve rounds.”

This fight has random-blood testing?

I think Brook is getting knocked out due to getting hurt from a feather fisted Senchenko. That was embarrassing. Only way I can see Brook winning is if Porter has some kind of suspect chin that has yet to be tested because Brook can throw a good KO punch. Like someone mentioned, Porter hasn't...
Doesn't take punches well, nor does he recover well, can't see how Brook wins this one.
How does Porter take a big punch? Alexander, Malignaggi and Diaz aren't punchers. I think Porter wins through pressure but I don't see any punchers on his resume.

Just like many before him Brook will cross the Atlantic back a beaten man. It is good however that he takes this fight so he can be put in the real place he belongs. I think he had the physical attributes, the speed and the power but was badly managed. He should have been challenged earlier on to...
