New York - The next move for Kell Brook (36-1, 25 KO’s) will depend on weight, according to his promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sports. Brook is coming off a stoppage loss to Gennady Golovkin (36-0, 33 KO’s), which saw the Sheffield boxer move up from 147 pounds to 160 pounds.

Brook gave a spirited effort against Golovkin for five rounds, but he suffered a fractured orbital bone and his corner didn’t feel the need to run him out another round against one of the fiercest punchers in the game.

“I want him to move up,” Eddie Hearn told BoxingScene.com. “I think he’d be a great champion at 154 pounds. But he’s also a champion and he really doesn’t want to give the title up. He wants to fight Amir Khan. Amir Khan, if he wants to the fight wants it at 147, because he knows he’ll be weak at 147 pounds.”

Hearn says priority number one for Brook is the Khan (31-4, 19 KO’s) fight, even though there are other available options for the IBF welterweight Champion.

“The purse bid for Spence will be in a month’s time,” stated the promoter. “We had conversations with Bob Arum about Manny Pacquiao. The Spence fight is a great fight but not a lot of people know about him. The Khan fight is the dream fight and the Pacquiao fight is another great fight. It matters if he stays at 147 or 154.”

Should Brook fight Khan, Hearn feels the skeptics will say he is avoiding a possible fight with Errol Spence Jr (21-0. 18 KO’s), but Hearn says if you look at Brook’s last fight - ducking should be the last thing being said of Brook.

“I want the Khan fight,” explained Hearn. “I’d like to see the Spence fight too. People say he’s ducking Errol Spence, well he just went up in weight to fight Gennady Golovkin.  But the Khan fight is huge, we’re putting all our eggs in that fight.”
