On Saturday night, BoxingScene.com posted a statement from Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (48-1-1, 32KOs), who made it known that he was ready to fight IBF/WBA 'regular' super middleweight champion Carl Froch (33-2, 24KOs) in the fall. Top Rank's CEO, Bob Arum, would like for Chavez to return in a major fight on September 13.

Following his dramatic one-punch knockout of George Groves before 80,000 fans in Wembley Stadium, Froch expressed his dream of headlining a big event in Las Vegas.

Froch's promoter, Eddie Hearn of Matchroom, is very interested in putting together a big fight between Froch and Chavez in Las Vegas - but Froch has the final say on what he does next.

"[Froch] deserves a big night in Vegas. And the Chavez fight, we looked at it even prior to this fight [with Groves]. And always the opportunity to do pay-per-view always wets the appetite of the promoter and I know it wets the appetite of Carl Froch.....and HBO Pay-Per-View and Sky Box Office Pay-Per-View. It's a decision for Carl and [trainer] Rob [McCracken]. It's my job to present the opportunities. Chavez is still a big name," Hearn said.

Chavez Jr. might price himself out again.

fk chavez. there is literally no point in that fight, except a payday. If Froch truly wants to be considered a great, he should go to Vegas and fight Ward again. He has nothing left to prove at 168 now. There's no point in Chavez (ever) or even GGG at this point, until hes beaten Martinez. ...

Honest question, why did Ward get so much sh*t for seeking a money fight with Chavez Jr but no one seems to complain when Froch and GGG ask for the same fight?

Neither can beat GGG. Both get knocked out by Gennady.

[QUOTE=Rudiamonds]Ward must be mad[/QUOTE] Depends... if Froch win as I believe he will, then Ward might be a little upset, but if Chavez wins, then that makes things even better for Ward.
