Hearn: Maidana Would Be a Dream Fight For Kell Brook

Promoter Eddie Hearn is sure Sheffield's welterweight starlet Kell Brook (27-0, 18KOs) is ready for world-title level boxing but will remain careful when selecting his next opponent. The 25-year-old put on a stellar performance on Saturday night to easily outpoint former European champion Matthew Hatton at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield in front of 10,000 adoring fans - and Hearn reflected on a superb night for his company.

He told Sky Sports Ringside:  "Maidana would be a dream fight. There's certain issues but he still holds the WBA light-welterweight title despite his loss at welterweight to Devon Alexander. All those kind of names - Maidana, Paulie Malignaggi, Sugar Shane Mosley - they're the names you want to bring out.

"Of course I can bring them over. With the support of Sky Sports and 10,000 fans, you can generate the numbers to bring over the big names - it makes things a lot easier. Brook is still learning. I know that's frustrating for people to hear but we need to choose the right fight at the right time and now it's a case of stepping up to that world title level."
Kell Brook is garbage (so is Maidana I might add)... the first fighter he fights with a pulse would roast him.
"garbage"?...That pretty much shows that you know f*ck all about boxing! Stick to another sport boy, as you quite clearly show a distinct lack of understanding...
The only reason he could want this is so that he can wipe the floor with him, call Khan out for struggling with him and try and hype a showdown with him.
Fine with me. I'd love Khan's first fight at 147 to be a matchup with Brook. Do it at the MEN or the O2 and the...

Maidana Trash, no skill?? Alexander protected.:moon:

The only reason why Alexander won, was because it was a 10 rounder, Alexanders hometown, and Alexander was allowed EXCESSIVE holding! That fight with Maidana should have been on neutral ground, theres clearly some suspicion with Ref. Smoger. although i do like Smoger, but sometimes Refs get intro...

maidana has no title last time i checked, go after a title Kel, or beat up a well known american not named money. you'll get mad respect by beating a mayweather or pacquaio left over aswell.
