Kell Brook will tackle Alvaro Robles in his next fight as he warms up for his IBF welterweight title shot later this year.
The pair will go toe-to-toe on the same bill as Tony Bellew when the Liverpudlian makes his cruiserweight debut in front of his home town fans at the Echo Arena on March 15, live on Sky Sports.
Undefeated Brook will be aiming for his 32nd consecutive win against the big-hitting Mexican, who has won 15 of his 17 victories by knockout.
However, Robles, who has never fought outside of Mexico, has been stopped twice and is not expected to upset Brook's world title plans.
"Kell will be warming up for his IBF title shot against Shawn Porter with a fight in Liverpool on March 15," confirmed promoter Eddie Hearn in the Daily Mail.
"I can reveal here that it will be against the Mexican welterweight champion Alvaro Robles, who has 17 wins (15 KOs) and two losses. If Kell wins that, Shawn Porter will have to defend his IBF world title against him this summer."
Hearn has reportedly offered Amir Khan $5m to fight Brook - but the Bolton boxer still wants to land a fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr, despite being overlooked recently.
"The only fight Kell would sidestep that for is Khan," added Hearn
"Khan has a lot to lose against Brook. If he gets knocked out, and I believe he will, I think that his career is over. He thinks he can fight Adrien Broner, Floyd Mayweather and then Kell Brook.
"The problem with that is Brook will go off and fight Porter and if he wins that title then there is no way Khan will be getting $5m as a challenger. Take your risks Amir, but realise what you are turning down."
