Amir Khan (29-3, 19KOs) has expressed a lot of interest in facing IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (33-0, 22KOs), according to promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport. In the past, Khan has had little to no interest in considering a fight with Brook.
Hearn intends to bring Brook back on December 6th in Sheffield. Khan is slated to fight on the same day in the United States. If both continue to win, Hearn would love to make a fight between the two of them for next summer.
Brook won the belt last Saturday night after winning a twelve round unanimous decision over previously undefeated Shawn Porter.
"Khan is suddenly very interested in a fight. We are too. People from Showtime, who show Khan's fights in the US, came into the dressing room after Kell won and said 'Let's talk'. Other US broadcasters have also been on - it's exciting times," Hearn told Daily Mail.
"I think this fight can be made, but people have to put arrogance and ego to one side. Before, when we offered Khan £3m to fight, he didn't fancy it. Kell had a reasonable name and no title. He has a huge name and a world title now."
