Promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport is confident that super bantamweight unification between Carl Frampton and Scott Quigg is possible if Cyclone Promotions, who handle Frampton, would budge a tiny bit from their financial demand.

Cyclone Promotions, run by Barry McGuigan, feels Frampton being a legit champion with the IBF title and also being the bigger draw, should at least get a 60-40 split. Quigg holds the WBA's 'regular' version of the title.

Both boxers were in action on July 18th. Frampton suffered two knockdowns in the first round but came back to dominate Alejandro Gonzalez Jr. over twelve rounds in El Paso, Texas. Across the ocean, Quigg demolished former champion Kiko Martinez in Manchester.

“We have gone back and given them a bigger percentage, but we need them to also move on their percentage. We swallowed some humble pie and we need them to move just a touch, but unfortunately not," Hearn told Newsletter.

“I’m desperate for this fight, so is Scott Quigg – that’s why, even after the last performance, we’ve gone back and given more, but we didn’t get any given back in return. You’re talking about a couple of percent. It might be £150,000, so they can’t tell me they want this fight."

“They don’t believe they can win the fight. I know Carl Frampton believes he can win it, but the people that make the decisions don’t.”
