BoxingScene.com and ES News recently spoke to Sam Watson of Haymon Boxing to get his take on the on going negotiations to finalize the Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao mega-fight that the world has Ben clamoring for.
Top Rank CEO Bob Arum and Manny Pacquiao have both stated that they have agreed to all of Mayweather's terms and are just waiting for the pound-for-pound king to sign the contract.
"I can't speak on (the negotiations)," said Watson. "All I can say is when it's right (Floyd's) going to sign it. It's a big fight. Right now there is a lot of talk and they are working on it. If it was (already) done the whole world would know about it. It wouldn't be a secret."
Watson, who is the face of Haymon Boxing along with his sons Brandon and Marcus, said while he can't speak for Mayweather, he truly believes the fight will happen.
"I believe the fight will happen. It's close. Like I said, Manny called me and said he wants the fight. Floyd told me he wants the fight. They are just waiting to get all the business down. They will get it down. Once they get that how they want it, I believe in my heart and soul - I'm not speaking for Floyd - but I believe there will be a fight," said Watson.
