The World Championship Committee of the World Boxing Association has decided to approve the fight between David Haye and the British Chisora ​​Derek as a sanctioned bout for the Intercontinental Heavyweight Championship.

Gilberto Jesus Mendoza, vice president of the WBA, announced the news. "The fight between Haye and Chisora ​​will be supported by the WBA. The WBA Intercontinental title is in dispute and officially approved," said Mendoza Jr.

David Haye, a former world heavyweight and cruiserweight champion of the WBA, has a professional record of 25-2-1, with 23 KOs. On the other hand has Chisora ​​record of 15-3-0 with 9 knockouts.

Both fighters have aroused interest among fans and media after being protagonists of a fight in the middle of the press conference after the fight between Klitschko and Chisora​​.

This Saturday’s big showdown between WBC World Middleweight Champion Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr. and Irishman Andy Lee will be televised live and exclusive on BoxNation (Sky Ch. 456/Virgin Ch. 546).

Mexican hero Chavez, Jr., Son of the Legend, makes the third defence of the title against the tough Irishman at the Sun Bowl Stadium in El Paso, Texas in a show titled “Viva Chavez”.

The 26-year-old from Culiacan is unbeaten in 47 fights and has made two exciting defences against Marco Antonio Rubio and Peter Manfredo that were televised live on BoxNation.

Lee, originally from Limerick, is now based in Detroit, USA, where he is trained by the legendary Emmanuel Steward at the famed Kronk Gym.

With only one loss on his 29-fight record to Brian Vera, which he avenged last year, Lee is unbeaten in a 13 fight run that includes inflicting the first loss on Scottish rival Craig McEwan’s career.

With a combined record of 73-1-1 (51 KOs), a winning percentage of 97% and a victory by knockout ratio of 70% it’s set to be an explosive fight.
