Haye: Vitali Klitschko Using Elections as an Excuse To Run

BERLIN - Britain's David Haye accused Ukraine's WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko of hiding behind the political process to avoid meeting him in the ring.

"Vitali shouldn't use parliament as an excuse to run from the biggest and best boxing match," Haye was quoted as saying, referring to the parliamentary elections scheduled in the eastern European nation on October 28.

The elder of the Klitschko brothers is head of the opposition UDAR party and is currently on the campaign trail after successfully defending his WBC title against Germany's Manuel Charr on September 8 in Moscow.

Klitschko's manager Bernd Boente said at the time: "If Vitali gets a role after the elections where he can make a difference, I suppose that would be the end of his boxing career."

"As a friend and manager, that's what I would advise. The fight for democracy and against corruption is more important than a fight against David Haye."

In July 2011 Haye lost the WBA title on points against Klitschko's brother, Vladimir, in the second defeat of his career.

[QUOTE=Ravens Fan]In all honesty I am starting to believe that English isn't your first language so let me explain it as simply as I can. I DO NOT CARE IF I EVER SEE DAVID HAYE CLIMB BETWEEN THE ROPES TO FIGHT ANYONE. Regardless if it would be against Vitali or Wlad or Eddie Chambers or Chris Arr...

[QUOTE=MurkaMan]Haye proved to you that he's a fraud, but against Chisora he proved that he can face adversity, and Now he proved that Vitali wont fight ANYONE who does THAT good against a guy who basically tatted him up. and I dont care about Tyson Fury, or how many times he beat this guy, or ho...

I am so sick of loud-mouth pr*cks who spend their days going for the lowest-common-denominator bullsh*t in order to generate publicity. Stop reporting on pr*cks like Haye everytime they open their foul mouths & bringing the whole sport of boxing to a lower level. The only time an *sshole like H...

[QUOTE=Ravens Fan]You dare to question whether I am a true boxing fan and then make such a ridiculous statement as Chisora beat the crap out of Vitali? What universe do you live in? If Vitali's fight was such a struggle I wish I had those types of struggles everyday. Since in reality he pretty m...
