Former two division world champion David Haye expects Wladimir Klitschko to take a pass on the contracted rematch with Tyson Fury.
Fury won an upset twelve round unanimous decision over Klitschko on Saturday night in Dusseldorf, Germany. With the win he captured the WBO/IBO/WBA/IBF world titles.
Haye lost a twelve round decision to Klitschko four years ago. He was twice scheduled to fight Fury in recent years. Both times he withdrew with injury.
There was a rematch clause between Klitschko and Fury. At the post-fight press conference, Klitschko told reporters that he intends to exercise his option for a rematch. Fury is ready for the rematch, if it happens.
"Klitschko won't exercise the rematch clause he insisted on. Klitschko is now completely finished. Out with the old, in with the new! That's the best thing to happen to the heavyweight division in years. Young fresh blood, who is a character to say the least," Haye said.
Haye himself is on the comeback trail. He returns on January 16th in his first fight since 2012. He takes on hard-punching Australian Mark De Mori.
