Harley Benn made a solid start to his professional career.

The Hornchurch super-middleweight, who is the son of former world champion Nigel, was meant to make his bow in the paid code last November.

However, paperwork issues forced the fight to be pulled just hours before he was due in the ring.

But now, live on BoxNation, the Lenny Butcher-trained fighter stopped Domink Zubko in the second of four scheduled rounds.

He’s raw and has a lot to work on but it was impressive once he got down to it, catching his foe high on the head before a barrage forced the referee Jeff Hinds to step in.

The contest, which took place on the undercard of Thomas Essomba’s bid to retain his Commonwealth flyweight title against Swansea’s Jay Harris at London’s York Hall, was waved off after just 43 seconds of the second round.

"I'm glad I've got the first one out the way,” Benn said in the aftermath. “It's the best feeling I've had in my life winning that fight.

“I haven’t had an amateur career, I had a couple of unlicensed fights, but I’ll be honest, it was much harder than I thought it was.”

Elsewhere, ‘Champagne’ Charlie Driscoll showcased some of his potential as he produced a very impressive display to remain undefeated.

The 23-year-old, from South Ockendon in Essex, moved to 4-0, all on points, with a 40-36 victory over veteran but game journeyman Dan Carr.
